Many factors affect the choice of an appropriate frame to maximize clarity of vision and comfortable spectacle wear. The power of your prescription, the density of the lens material, the design of the lenses – all impact the frame you choose to wear. The frame material itself (plastic, metal, rimless, rimlon, horn) is important to how our Opticians can customize the fit of the frame for your features and for your prescription. If the frame does not fit, the quality of your vision with the prescription lenses may not be optimal. Frames don’t have to be pricey, but they do have to be fit properly. Moderne Eye Optometry carries frames that are completely covered by insurance as well as mid-range and high-end frame lines.
Why do some frames cost so much?
Couture frame lines such as Alain Mikli, Oliver Peoples, Bevel, l.a. Eyeworks, Vera Wang, Zac Posen are really a part of the fashion industry. New designs are offered in the fall and spring and launched at the eyeglass version of fashion weeks at Vision Expo in New York, Mido in Milan and Silmo in Paris. Just like designing a beautiful suit or dress, every detail of the frame has been designed to entice a discerning clientele. The materials used for these frames are of the best quality and the manufacturing process is detailed. We hope you enjoy these beautiful frames as much as we enjoy bringing them to you.
The prescription written by your Optometrist is unique to you. To ensure clarity and comfort with your prescription lenses, measurement of your pupillary distance and optical centers are necessary to accurately manufacture your prescription lenses. In addition to those unique measurements, how your nose and cheekbones affect the position of these lenses can impact your vision. Our Optometrist can recommend lens styles (progressives, digital single vision, transitions, computer lenses) and state of the art digital lens designs by Carl Zeiss Optical or Shamir for your unique vision needs.
Optical by Opticians
Moderne Eye is staffed by licensed Opticians who are available to advise you on frame selection and your prescription lens options. Our Opticians are experienced at taking ophthalmic measurements and understand how to make frame adjustments to customize the fit of your prescription glasses for comfort and for maximum visual benefit. If the frame does not fit your nose or the temples are not long enough for your years then the optics of the glasses will not be in the proper location to provide you with good vision. The fit and adjustment of the frames and lenses are crucial to the enjoyment of your prescription. Moderne Eye Opticians are licensed professionals who can help you design a pair of glasses that are a joy to wear. When you purchase your frame and lenses from us, our office provides a frame warranty against defects, we provide free frame adjustments and free cleaning for the life of your prescription, we order replacement parts for your frames and warrant the lenses for one prescription re-do within 60 days of your purchase.
